A plane from Air Canada slid off the taxiway at Montreal-Trudeau Airport on July 10. It hit the ground, and then moved onto the grass and ended up off the runway. Officials sealed the strip immediately. No one got hurt in the move, even though it felt rough.
That block stopped takeoffs and landings for hours. Cleanup crews dragged equipment to the area. Others inspected the runway for possible damage. In the afternoon, flights resumed takeoffs and landings when the strip reopened.
