Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh told members of Congress on July 14, 2026 that the central bank won’t allow inflation to stay elevated. He repeated the Fed’s goal of keeping prices rising at about 2% a year during a live hearing . Warsh said it can and will act strongly if needed to hold prices down . He gave no hints about possible policy changes later.
