Organisers called off stage three of the 2026 Vuelta a España on Monday. A freak hail event hit the Pyrenees area. Officials brought the stage to a halt near Font-Romeu on the Col de Mont-Louis with less than 20km left. Heavy hail hammered the course. No riders were injured. Emergency crews worked to clear fans off the mountain. This was the first stage three cancellation since 1991.
