China's Tianwen-2 reached near-Earth asteroid Kamoʻoalewa on its scheduled date. The probe took the first detailed photos of the object called Earth’s mini moon. It started scientific tests during the encounter as it was 1 billion kilometers from Earth. State media provided live updates throughout the operation as teams announced the achievement.
