Southern Water will impose a ban on hosepipes in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight from mid-July. Similar rules began in Kent recently. The company cites hot weather and scant precipitation as the primary cause.
The ban covers private watering, garden hoses, and cleaning vehicles. If dry conditions persist, officials may expand the rules. Southern England already has additional water-saving steps in certain areas.
