The Utah Jazz built a 31-24 lead over the Denver Nuggets after the first quarter of their Oct. 6 game. Jamal Murray was named to the starting lineup for Denver. Utah put out a late injury update on forward Lauri Markkanen ahead of tip-off, though details on his status were not disclosed.

On the international front, Murray was set to miss Team Canada commitments for the upcoming window. Toronto Raptors guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander confirmed his spot on the Canadian roster, taking on a larger role for the national team.
