A raccoon seen within Seattle named Jimothy has taken the internet by storm for its unusually short spine. The trend really began after 21 July 2026. Reports in The New York Times and The Seattle Times ran features on it. Buzz from the UK also added to the noise, with FOX 13 Seattle asking if other raccoons share the name. Local artists and tattoo studios quickly rolled out Jimothy-inspired work. Tattoo designs and illustrations appeared across the city. Comedy program The Daily Show also gave Jimothy a nod during its broadcast.
