Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has halted taking new applications for family visa sponsorship for elderly relatives. Families can not file any new forms to bring elderly relatives to Canada. The government provided no update on when or the suspension will end. New changes to immigration rules came shortly prior to the shutdown. Newly released data on work permit delays emerged. Yet, no plan to address the current delays was announced.
