Ed Husic, Australia’s Industry Minister, criticised Labour’s internal culture after his initiative to open a debate on recognising Gaza failed to pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reportedly described his outburst at a meeting as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unfazed by criticism, declaring reporters: "put me in a ice box, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed failed attempts to push the party to officially acknowledge events in Gaza as genocide.
Leaked files and internal files were later filed that revealed serious rifts within Labour’s ranks over policy and direction.
