The Prince of Wales visited the site in July 2023 to view the nursery extension, glasshouse, and gardens. Revenue from the Duchy funds the Duke's public, private, and charitable activities. The nursery lies within the Duchy estate forming a key estate operation within Duchy lands that opened to the public in 1975. Growth over 50 years has expanded the site. The nursery is among the South West’s most respected nurseries. Duchy of Cornwall Nursery continues to expand facilities including a new extension while emphasizing nature-friendly horticulture.
