CenterPoint Energy confirmed that customers' personal details was exposed in a data breach. Class action suits were filed over the incident. The company said services remain operational and that customer information was obtained.

In a separate matter, the FBI told Springfield officials that a school system attack amounted to a data breach that possibly exposed Social Security numbers. Student and employee data were compromised in the Springfield Public Schools incident, the FBI said. The FBI delivered the alert to local authorities.
