Prime Minister Mark Carney has called snap federal byelections for three Canadian seats. Voters in Brantford-Brant, Ontario; Châteauguay-Lacolle, Quebec; and Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke, British Columbia will go to the polls on August 31. Campaigning is ramping up quickly, with political sides selecting candidates and finalising strategies. The Conservatives have vowed to push federal probes on two top matters: construction oversight of the Gordie Howe bridge and Washington’s threatened tariff measures.
