Alex Marquez injured in crash-strewn Catalonia MotoGP
Riders Alex Marquez and Johann Zarco are taken to hospital after high-speed crashes at the Catalonia MotoGP in a race won by Fabio di Giannantonio.
www.bbc.co.ukAlex Márquez went down at the Catalunya MotoGP in podium contention. He was taken to hospital and later underwent surgery for a fractured right collarbone, and a C7 vertebrae fracture. A plate was used in the clavicle repair. Gresini Racing confirmed he stayed conscious through the incident. Fabio Di Giannantonio won the race. Márquez will miss Mugello and Balaton races.
